This is posted through MSN messenger using the service imified.com. It’s the same server I use to update my twitter status through MSN. Not the most advanced function in the world but just the fact that it works gives it a pretty high score. [rating:4.5]

Doesn’t anyone follow you on Twitter? It doesn’t help that you have your twitter status both on your Facebook and in your WordPress blog? Well now you can finally show your tweets to the world through your MSN status msg =) This application does something I have been waiting for since I started with Twitter and it does it well. One small drawback is that the install is a tad bit complicated but luckily the readme file explains all very well.

My goal is to create a network of application that works together and I thought I’d give an example on how it is going.

I am listening to a song by the excellent group Machinae Supremacy in Winamp.

I chose this song using the Firefox plugin FoxyTune in FireFox (also works in IE). This plugin also lets me see the lyrics, several videos from Machinea Supremacy on Youtube, pictures from their show in FlickrPhotos, their album on Amazon and much more all in just one click.

It also added the nice little signature at the bottom of this post through a button in WordPress called Signatunes (also works in many other applications).

Using the nifty plugin TwittyTune I then posted the song on my Twitter account.

Twitter Tools then displays my Twitter status on WordPress as well as updating a post with all the days tweets once every day.

My Facebook profile also shows my Twitter status through a nice application.

All this simply by playing a song that I happen to like.

Also this post is shown on my Facebook through this application and through my notes as explained here and the fact that I posted

FoxyTunes is a very well made plugin that lets you control your media through Firefox. With a small bar at the bottom of your browser you can control Winamp, Mediaplayer or any media player ranging from Mediaplayer Classic to Xbox Mediacenter. You are also connected to the FoxyTunes database wich lets you find out more about the artist you are listening to with just a few clicks. You can find lyrics, videos on youtube and much more. Another nice feature I wasn’t ready for is a button that was added to WordPress that adds the current song you are listening to as a signature in the post you are writing. (example below) With the extra little plugin TwittyTunes you are also just a click away from twitting about what you are listening to or watching.

TwitBin

Where do you spend most of your online time? For me it’s the webbrowser and thus I’m happy that I now can twit very easily directly from Firefox. I also have a nice sidebar with all my friends’ tweets.  This is a plugin I recomend for all that is or want to be twitting on a regular basis.

BlogRovR

BlogRovR is a multitool. One one hand it is capable of fetching blogposts about whatever page you are visiting, on the other hand it is an easy way to tweet about whatever page you are visiting. It lacks the feature of watching your friends tweets so I won’t be using it as much as TwitBin.

I’ve stumbled across a page that describes how to use the service twitterfeed to update your Facebook status. It only updates every 30 minutes (less frequently is available as an option) but atleast there is a way.

Not much of a review as a mention really. There is an Facebook application that allows you to show off your xfire profile. It shows if you are online, how much you have played your favourite game this week and ever. Nothing fantastic but still nice.

Chess.com is a great page to play chess online for free and the Facebook chess application are now supported by the chess.com engine. We can look forward to more features like tournaments, better chat system and better javascript for the graphics. Due to the lack of intuitivity when starting out I can’t give this application a top score but if you like chess it’s definatly worth installing and wrapping your head around.

Edit: I took away half a star after realising that the engine on Facebook isn’t connected to that on chess.com and thus you can’t play against oponents on chess.com.
